Who we are

Founded in 1842, Bann Rowing Club is one of the oldest and most successful rowing clubs on the island of Ireland. We are based in a historic boat house on the east bank of the River Bann at Coleraine, and for nearly two centuries the club has been one of the best known across the region.

For all ages & abilities

The club caters for rowers of all ages and all abilities with members drawn from across the communities of Northern Ireland. Our club has enjoyed considerable success over the past decades with our rowers participating at Olympic and World Championship level. At a national level a number of our rowers have represented Ireland and Team GB. The club is supported by the national sporting body, Rowing Ireland.

Our values

We aim to be an inclusive, community based, amateur rowing club supporting all members to achieve/ optimise their potential and exceed their aspirations, and provide the best available coaching and facilities. In doing so we will promote rowing, highlight the club’s heritage, and build on our success.

Serving the Community

The club has served the wider communities of the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area for generations. This dedication was recently recognised when the club was awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (2021), for-
